First time using crypto to pay for something? Don’t worry, it’s simpler than it looks, and this will put you ahead of ordinary people. This guide walks you through it step by step.

1. What do I need to pay with crypto?
Just two things:
- An account on an exchange platform (this is an app or website where you buy crypto with your card or bank transfer).
- A few minutes.
You don’t need any technical knowledge beforehand, and up until STEP 4 it’s all a ONE TIME process. After you complete it, you will never have to do it again.
2. Choose an exchange to buy from.
This will be the platform who will sell you the coins. Here we provide a list of reliable, easy-to-use options:
- Binance The largest exchange worldwide, available in almost every country (also, our exchange of choice).
- Coinbase Very simple, ideal if this is your first time.
- Bitstamp One of the oldest crypto exchanges in the world.
- CEX.IO Another of the biggest crypto exchanges worldwide.
- Trust Wallet Self custody wallet. For advanced users.
- Zengo Also a good option, with a simple app.
Pick one, download the app or go to the website, and create an account with your email.
3. Verify your identity (KYC).
IMPORTANT: As with every mayor payment processor, you need to verify your identity. THIS DOES NOT MEAN your personal details will be shared. Once you purchase your crypto, EVERY PAYMENT YOU DO WITH THEM IS COMPLETELY ANONYMOUS.
Even crypto exchanges require a quick verification for security purposes. You will be asked for:
- A photo of your ID (national ID, driver license or passport).
- A selfie or automated live check via your cellphone.
- Some may require other details, but as we say, none of them will be ever shared in any purchase you do.
The verification process usually takes anywhere from a few minutes to a couple of hours. Remember this is a one-time step. You won’t need to repeat it afterward.
4. Buy the cryptocurrency.
Once your account is verified you are officially ready to own your coins!:
- Look for the “Buy Crypto” option in the exchange you chose.
- Choose the currency you’re looking for. - Once done, the crypto will appear in your exchange account within minutes. Notice your crypto account is called “Wallet”, and can only send that kind of crypto to other wallets that hold the same coin. Just like bank accounts can only receive American Dollars, Euros, and such.
5. Pay with your crypto for our content here.
When you’re ready to pay, go to the SUBSCIPTIONS PAGE, and just click on SUBSCRIBE.
- You’ll be send to NOWPAYMENTS check out page (a crypto payments processor). You will see a dropdown menu to choose the cripto currency that you wanna pay with. We encourage you to use USDT, but Bitcoin is also an option. After picking your currency, you will see a QR code to scan with your exchange app or wallet. If you are an advanced user and prefer the classic “copy/paste address and amount method”, you will also find them there.
- From your exchange app, select “Send” / “Withdraw”.
- Scan the QR code with your cellphone (or paste the address and confirm the exact amount requested if doing it manually) and finally, confirm the transfer.
VERY IMPORTANT FOR NEW USERS: Double-check the address carefully before confirming. Crypto transactions CANNOT be undone once sent. If you send it to the wrong address, your funds may get lost forever. PLEASE DOUBLE-CHECK. If you use the “scan QR method”, the check is automatic, so using the QR is safer for you.
6. Wait for confirmation
Payment is usually confirmed within minutes (sometimes up to 30-60 min depending on the network). You’ll get a notification once it’s credited. This is important for you to be aware. DO NOT panic if the transaction takes several minutes. It’s normal. If you set a high network fee (usually no more than USD $1) you can rest assured the transaction will arrive in about 10 minutes. This is a message for new users: In the world of crypro, YOU DECIDE the fee to pay for each transaction. The higher the amount, the fastest the payment will arrive.

What happens if I get the address wrong?

Are there extra fees?
Exchanges charge a small fee for buying and for sending crypto. This is called “network fee”. That is one of the pillars that keeps the crypto system going.
